Dr. Subrata Kr. Dutta has more than 20 years professional experience of working with government, international development agencies, academic institutions and private sector. He is a former Country Head of Global Food Fortification Initiative at Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, USA; Country Coordinator of Nutrition International, Canada; has worked with Tata-Trusts and UNICEF, Ford Foundation and Christian Aid funded projects.
He instituted national food fortification policy in India. He strategically established a high-empowered technical advisory body of UN, international development agencies, Ministries and Govt. institutions for collaborative food and nutrition programs and evidenced-based public health &amp; nutrition policy advocacy. He was actively involved with the Planning Commission and several Ministries of Govt. of India for implementation of food fortification &amp; IYCF-guidelines in India. He was part of few WHO/CDC global advocacy initiatives for strategic public investments in Asia and Africa. He is in many advisory boards and member of functional committees setup by Government of India, State Governments, industry bodies and academic institutions including CII and Amity University. He was awarded a Doctorate degree in agriculture development communication and obtained four post-graduate degrees in different subjects. He is a distinguished research scholar and, an expert of food-supply-chain management who established large food security program in India reaching 80 million direct beneficiaries. He substantially contributed to the periodic report: The right to Adequate Food in India submitted to the 40 th session of UN-ECOSOC and a reviewer of food supply-chain studies in Asia.
